It was recently announced VP Pence's wife Karen Pence would be taking up an art teaching position at Immanuel Christian School in Springfield, Va. The left went nuts because of the schools "anti-LGBTV" policies, condemning Mrs Pence for taking the job, "proving they're evil people", "hate gays" etc etc. God forbid (no pun intended) a PRIVATE Christian school objects to alternative lifestyle that goes against their religious beliefs protected under the First Amendment. Damn that old dirty document written by those dead guys.
As you would expect CNN has piled on with the hate questioning if it matters that Mrs Pence should have a Secret Service protection detail teaching at a school that goes against liberal ideology! Host.. political activist John King asked a panel “Does it matter that all taxpayers pay for housing? All taxpayers pay for her Secret Service protection? It’s not her fault that she needs protection, this is the world we live in. But all taxpayers pay for, subsidize her life. Does it matter?”
Does it matter is more or less his way of saying why should she be protected at a school that hates a VERY small segment of the population. Where is it written one has to give up their life and career interests because a spouse holds political office and their choices do not sync with a segment of the public opinion John? Better yet STR will cede to your position/ suggestion in removing Mrs. Pence's security detail AFTER the obama's, clinton's, Bush's and carter's Secret Service details are removed. They're no longer serving the country in any official way, why should they have protection detail at taxpayers expense, especially when we know they engage in activities people disagree with!? It's the same difference. The obama's and clinton's are huge supporters of climate change, abortion, gun control etc, why should they get protection if the public has a problem with where they stand on these issues?? You can't have it both ways,but this is what we expect from a network that is engaged in political activism not actual news reporting and journalism.
If King's position is not driven over hate or political bias, logic demands he agree with call to remove protection details from former presidents. Will anyone call his bluff on this? No, because the media is complicit with their hate for anyone who is not in lockstep with their radical agenda.
