All charges against the remaining Baltimore officers in the Freddie Gray case have been dropped and the gag order has been rescinded. MD State Atty Marylin Mosby remained defiant defending her prosecutors regardless of the fact the acquittals of 3 officers was grounds to dismiss the remaining officers. If Mosby and her prosecutors did such a fine job as she suggests then why the acquittals and dismissal?
Mosby launched a political witch hunt abusing her position of power, she should be removed from office and disbarred IMMEDIATELY! She can rant and complain all she wants because it will not help her when she has to go to court to defend herself for being charged with malicious prosecution.
Baltimore judge has acquitted the fourth and highest-ranking officer, Lt Brian Rice, of all charges in the Freddie Gray case. There is no substantial, credible evidence to show malice or criminal intent by any of the officers against Gray. It's time for State Attorney Marilyn Mosby to be removed from office after this politically driven witch-hunt she launched against the 6 officers charged with the death of Gray.
“To the people of Baltimore and the demonstrators across America: I heard your call for ‘No justice, no peace.’ Your peace is sincerely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of this young man.
To the youth of the city. I will seek justice on your behalf. This is a moment. This is your moment Let’s ensure we have peaceful and productive rallies that will develop structural and systemic changes for generations to come. You’re at the forefront of this cause and as young people, our time is now.”
Mosby has clearly demonstrated what malicious prosecution looks like by an individual abusing her position of power. She should be forced to resign by the Governor, impeached by the legislature or recalled by the voters. Regardless how she is removed from office Mosby should most definitely be disbarred and never permitted to practice law again!
Highest-ranking officer charged in Freddie Gray case acquitted on all counts by FoxNews.com/ contrinutors Varuna Bhatia & Associated Press
A judge in Baltimore Monday acquitted the highest-ranking officer charged in the death of Freddie Gray, marking the fourth trial that prosecutors failed to win.
Lt. Brian Rice faced charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office. He opted for a bench trial by Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams.
The judge previously dismissed a second-degree assault charge, and prosecutors dropped a second misconduct charge against the 42-year-old officer, who is white.
Gray died a week after suffering a spinal injury in a police van last year, touching off protests and rioting.
Rice's failure to seatbelt Gray, Williams said, may have been an error in judgment and a violation of updated policy -- but the judge found prosecutors failed to prove it rose to a criminal level.
"The state failed to show that the defendant, even if he was aware of the risk, consciously disregarded that risk," the judge said... read more
The hits just keep coming out of Baltimore! Two officers have been exonerated now going into trial number three we learn prosecutors withheld key testimony from the other prisoner who was in the van with Gray because....
he was "consistent with his inconsistencies" and they didn't think they needed to disclose anything that would help Officer Goodson's case.
Oh Marilyn Mosby you must be so proud of yourself! You deserve to be sued for malicious prosecution and at this point be disbarred for this biased witch hunt you launched against these officers to appease the mob that tore that city apart.
Just like clockwork the truth is slowly coming out, we saw this with Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown and now Freddie Gray. While leaks can be detrimental to a criminal case sometimes they are necessary if the truth is being suppressed for political agenda. It's no wonder after 6 officers were charged today with homicide that news like this is hitting the wire contradicting what the State Atty announced. The Baltimore police feel they have been thrown under the bus by senior commanders and the mayor so expect more anonymous interviews like this.
Gray was If you are a habitual criminal and cops knew his MO so they had probable cause to initiate an investigation if not an arrest. That said the story of him making eye contact with police and running now makes sense. He was in an area he was known to sell drugs, they saw him making some kind of exchange as this cop alleges to Hannity, and Gray chose to run. Based on his previous history they had every right to apprehend him. With that said this report along with Gray's history State Atty Marilyn Mosby misled the public, that's strike #1.
Word to the wise.... If you're not guilty you have nothing to worry about. Yes we have had instances of abuse by police to just grab anyone and if it's a general case of harassment either way call the ACLU or NAACP to sue the police!
Leaders, attorneys, retired police etc have all said keep a cool head face the police don't run, don't fight them, don't try to take their weapons and fight them in court. The same applies if you're a victim of discrimination fight the bad cops in court; especially now with so many high profile cases you're bound to find someone to represent you.
State prosecutor Marilyn Mosby was clearly acting in "appeasement of the mob" and she even admitted it in her press conference...
Case after case we have had officials who should be upholding the law and being neutral taking sides. We have a power structure in place that is as Krauthammer says appeasing the mob. Every single time there is white on black crime the media and elites go into a frenzy trying to convict the accused before the facts are out let alone a trial. What about all the black on white crimes, better yet why no mention of black on black?! Doesn't sell and it doesn't fit the lefts race hustling agenda.
These charges were rushed and what did we learn today from Mosby? No facts were released, no grand jury and not even an autopsy report but a condemnation from her against anyone who does leak information. FYI leaks are done 9 times out of 10 to get the truth out because someone of authority is usually suppressing it. Those in power will suppress facts because they know if released it will ruin their agenda! The charges made against these officers are not going to hold in court. Criminal defense attorneys are already speaking out criticizing the charges made against these officers. 2nd Degree Murder for not putting a seat-belt on a prisoner?! Seriously!? And that policy was changed after the Gray incident. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't investigators have more "evidence" on Ofc Darren Wilson who was later acquitted... by the obama/ Holder DOJ?!
This is going to end bad in a few months if and when the officers are acquitted. Then again one has to wonder if they will even get a fair trial at this point. The left is hell-bent on convicting white cops to solidify their theory all cops are racist and bad to justify the govt federalizing the police.
