What a worm! Rand Paul backed Mitch McConnell in the primaries because of Mitch's power and influence with the KY legislature. Why does that matter? KY has/ had a rule that restricted one from being in the Senate and running for POTUS at the same time. Said rule was of course changed and it is the only reason Rand Paul is running for POTUS. If Rand had to give up being a Senator he would not be campaigning right now. Mitch McConnell made that rule change happen in return for Rand's support in the primaries and Senate to be majority leader. Paul is obligated to support McConnell and is why he can't give a straight answer as to whether he still supports Harry Reid-lite!
Paul's response to Fox's Bill Hemmer on whether he supports McConnell is no different from when he played stupid when Glenn Beck called him out for backing McConnell during the primaries...
You can be sure when the calls get louder for McConnell to be ousted like Boehner, Rand Paul will be in a corner somewhere keeping to himself or making excuses!
Those in attendance at the Value Voters Summit are a snapshot of the cheers and joy conservatives felt today when John Boehner announced his resignation today.
The SOB's in DC said "we need the House". We gave them the House. Then they said "we need the Senate". We gave them the Senate. With a 2/3 majority repubs claim they need the White House to get anything done. That's completely untrue, as the problem with not getting anything done has to do with the republican leadership. John Boehner played a key role in that problem and he is now on his way out. None of his lackeys/ supporters can be permitted to succeed him. If Kevin McCarthy is chosen he will only continue where John left off. The Constitution provides more than enough tool to reign in an out of control dictator like obama. The problem is the current roster of Congressional republican leadership is corrupt with progressives who make excuses and have no will to do what is necessary to stop obama. True conservatives have to take over the leadership in DC, as Rubio points out in his speech today "time has come to turn the page to allow a new generation of leadership in this country".
Now all we have to do is get Mitch "Harry Reid-Lite" McConnell out as Senate Maj Ldr and maybe just maybe this crazy ride we're on can be slowed down. Will new conservative leadership stop us from going off the cliff? No. At this point we need find those who can do everything possible to soften the crash landing.
Well we now have a good idea as to why the Boehner was such a crybaby yesterday during Pope Francis' visit and speech to Congress. This announcement is long over due Boehner should have been ousted years ago. One thing is for sure another progressive cannot be permitted to become Speaker. Louie Gohmert or Trey Gowdy wold be good choices as his replacement. Kevin McCarthy would be very bad as he is part of the progressive machine and do nothing signature of the GOP.
I have nothing good to say about John Boehner, he, IMO has helped put the US further into debt, divide the nation on many issues and weaponized the office he holds/held against those who are/ were standing for the American people. Take note under his leadership we still have no closure or accountability over Fast & Furious, IRS and many other scandals, Eric Holder was never dealt with for being in contempt of Congress and last but not least no answers or accountability on Benghazi (which includes Clinton's emailgate). Frankly I could go on and on about all of Boehner's failures and divisiveness but I will simply end with this....

It was my plan to only serve as Speaker until the end of last year, but I stayed on to provide continuity to the Republican Conference and the House. It is my view, however, that prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable damage to the institution. To that end, I will resign the Speakership and my seat in Congress on October 30.
