Mr Guam Might Tip Over Wants DHS Oversight of Elections

Hank Johnson, aka Mr Guam Might Tip Over, is the last guy who should be making recommendations to grant more power to the Executive Branch (fyi DHS falls under the Executive Branch) to have oversight of elections. This is beyond dangerous because we know how things done with good intentions get perverted and abused. Any question on elections results people will point the finger of blame at the current POTUS seeking re-election or exiting trying to choose their successor. No sorry we don't need a govt agency incapable of protecting the border, vetting immigrants and refugees to take over the election system. Furthermore, DHS Sec Jeh Johnson admitted there is no credible evidence of a threat to our election system, just a lot of talk. Yes, this nation is under cyberattack daily but maybe the best solution to this threat is to go back to old low-tech election system.

Homeland Security Wants to Take Control of Elections

This incompetent govt is playing right into the Russians hands. They've allowed multiple systems to be hacked and now with the seeds of doubt planted of a rigged election the next logical step is for the obama admin to seize more power bypassing Congress and violating the Constitution by taking over the election system.

Under Article 1 Sec 4 it clearly states:

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.

There is nothing in the Constitution about the Executive Branch declaring itself all powerful to take control over elections. Will anyone believe the results if this admin is overseeing the election results? As if it's not bad enough with voter fraud and machine being compromised. This is what the Russians want to put more doubt in our govt, create upheaval, discontent and cause chaos in the streets!

Here's an idea how about we go back to good old fashioned paper ballots and taking a page from Iraqi elections where people get their thumbs dyed after they vote rather than machines that can be hacked into from the other side of the planet? Makes too much sense for this Banana Republic
