Sen Angus King: 'The Fourth Amendment Isn't Absolute'

I'm sick and tired of hearing these nitwits, like Angus King, in DC trivializing the Constitution to justify their power grabs in the name of our security.

To top it off they LIE that the NSA is not storing actual phone calls. They keep claiming the agency is just collecting metadata of who you called and when. If that were true then the data storage facility in Bluffdale UT would only have to be a fraction of the size it is. The date, time, length, who, and numbers called is probably not even equal to a byte of data. This facility can hold an astronomical, practically inconceivable volume of data that goes into exabytes. It's all very technical but all you need to know is no one van count that high and I heard somewhere the volume of data can be stored is equal to the volume of the Sun... a few times over!!

If the NSA spy program is so important and needed, because "we will get hit again", how come they didn't stop the Boston Bombing? Where was the NSA to stop the Garland TX attack that was thankfully thwarted by a cop with a pistol?!

Sorry The Patriot Act and all these programs established to monitor us should have expired years ago. This just goes to show you how something done with good intentions always gets perverted and abused weaponized by the power elite.

Can you hear that? Did you hear that rumbling? That was Benjamin Franklin and the Founders rolling in their graves. Giving up our liberties for a small amount of security will end badly. It is a smack in the face to our founding and the American people for a Senate Majority Leader to stand idly by praising a federal agency who spies on Americans justifying it under the guise of national security. Frankly his praise of Americans being spied on is a trait of tyrants. Fact is power was given to an agency to track credible threats to this nation, but this power was then turned on the people.

Spying on Americans suggesting if said policies were in place they would have prevented 9/11 is foolish. How do we know this? The govt knew about the Tsarnaev's yet the Boston Bombing still happened, and we just learned today that the feds knew the terrorists were going to attack the Muhammad contest in Garland TX.


Thank Rand Paul, yes the same guy who ranted against the NSA, for McConnell being in power. His support for Mitch, playing the DC game for favors, over Matt Bevin is unforgivable.

Like this is any surprise although I don't see why the NSA would go through such lengths because when it gets to the end user they will gain full access and know whats on it, when and where! Our Constitutional civil rights are being trampled on day and night by the very people who enable the NSA! How does it feel America knowing Congress funds the NSA spying on each and everyone of us with our tax dollars? Where are the warrants to to intercept and bug peoples electronic devices? As Kibbe points out blanket warrants were one of the many reasons we went to war to gain our independence, thus the 4th Amendment. We got rid of one tyrant and now have an entire bureaucracy of tyrants!

When was the last time you heard anyone in DC thunder away on the NSA? Aside from the handful of rebels in DC who else in a position of authority is speaking out against this agency's abuse of power? They seem more concerned about what law-abiding Americans are doing rather than the true enemies of the US. For the record all of this spying has done nothing to stop terror attacks. Where were they on Ft Hood or the Boston bombing?
