Michael Moore appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers pushing his communist propaganda. When asked if he were running for president what would be some of the items in his platform, as you would expect, the first thing he would do is outlaw immoral billionaires. You know the people who come up with products and services, aka job creators. They have too much while others are struggling so he "would not allow this kind of disparity to continue."
Meyers then brings up Sandy Cortez and her 70% tax the rich dream Moore of course agrees with. Super rich leftists like himself are all in favor of a massive tax hike on the rich now that they've made their money and won't be a target for all these acts of wealth redistribution! Taxing the rich is how he and his ilk would end the income disparity in America, redistributing the money along with a joint!
America's downfall will be from within... Leftists are the biggest threat to this country outside of ISIS, China or Russia.
Radical progressive group MoveOn.org, along with SEIU (you know obama's FRIENDS), have taken the Fight for $15 campaign to a new low. They're now telling people that 'low wages are violence'! Yes America they have now taken to rewriting the dictionary, to equate stabbings, shootings, beatings, destruction of property, rape, war etc with low wages. These organizations and pundits pushing Fight for $15 haven't gotten the message that this push for higher wages for low-skilled work will result in more job losses! Apparently fast-food restaurants, like McDonalds, and supermarkets installing self-serve checkouts and kiosks hasn't made it clear the worker demanding $15 an hour can be replaced with a machine.
This site WARNED machines would replace low-skilled uneducated workers demanding higher pay. It's insulting that these people think they're entitled to the same pay as those who put the time in to climb the ladder and went to school to get the jobs that pay higher wages. Their handlers at MoveON.org and the like behind this know what will happen, why they're doing it is unknown. BUT remember the Left always has a long-term master plan behind every radical, destructive plan they start.
Those seeking higher wages for low-skilled work you need to hear every word here (originally posted in May 2015) and think twice before pushing this insanity any further. The jobs these people are holding demanding higher pay will be replaced by machines. The level of technology being produced is accelerating from self-checkout kiosks to robots that can open a bottle of beer, pour it into a glass and serve it. Those of you who will not stop this push for higher wages for low-skilled work are going to put a lot of people out of work. And no, those who lose their jobs will not be the ones building the machines... the machines are building machines!
All of you fast-food and low-wage workers demanding $15/hour ($15r's) out there railing against McDonald's, Walmart, Target etc claiming income inequality you need a wake up call.
First off that part-time job you are holding was NEVER EVER MEANT to sustain a family of 3-4 let alone 9 (with 2 still at home).
These low-level jobs were established to provide two things to workers:
#1 To allow new workers (primarily teens and college students) to gain experience in the workplace. From learning to do tasks, deal with customers, handle cash, process orders etc
#2 Provide supplemental income to an individual with a full-time job, those retired on fixed incomes or again spending money for students.
Second, these jobs you handle flipping burgers, stocking shelves, running a cash register etc are LOW-SKILLED jobs. That means very little education and ability is required to perform the job. These jobs ARE NOT EQUAL to the low-end jobs (no disrespect to those who hold them) in other industries. In other words a burger flipper or cashier IS NOT EQUAL to a paralegal, medical assistant, mechanics(changing tires/oil types), (some) teachers and bank tellers.
Pay is based on skill level, education, knowledge and experience! Those of you seeking $15 an hour do understand that is more than what many professionals make!? You think running a register or stocking shelves makes you worth more than someone who got a 4 year education and is a biochemist? Seriously?
Why stop at $15 hour? Why not just demand $100, $200 or $400 hour and equate yourselves with doctors, lawyers and engineers... for low-skilled work!?
These demands protesters are making will leave companies with a few options, none of which protesters and their manipulative handlers at MoveOn.org or SEIU etc will like. If employers are forced to pay higher wages to low-level, low-skilled workers, they will have to:
1) ... cut overhead. No problem right? Here's the problem, since the 2008 crash companies big and small have all learned how to run lean. That means cuts have already been made in overhead expenses. Some jobs that were lost were never filled as tasks were delegated to remaining staff and companies learned they could operate with less staff. With technology making things easier there isn't much more that can be cut from daily operating expenses
2) ... raise prices. Another no brainer right? Wrong! Competition is fierce, companies have already reduced costs and expenses the last thing they want to do is raise their prices punishing if not scaring away their customers. While a minor increase in prices is possible it's not economically viable long-term as costs beyond their control (rent/lease,electric, gas, supplies etc) always go up and will lead many to make drastic decisions.
3) ... reduce workers hours. Many companies are already juggling hours and job status as it is because of obamacare (Thank you Sen John McCain for torpedoing it's repeal). If companies are forced to raise wages they will juggle work schedules around even more to allow them to reduce the number of hours workers will work.
4) ... fire staff. As pointed out in cutting overhead, companies are already (and have learned) running lean. If costs go up because of higher wages they will cut staff to stay in the black. That will mean more work for those who have seen their duties increase as it is. So who gets fired? It depends on experience and skill level! Some workers will be considered irreplaceable if they are relied on for many duties, but others who may be well experienced but possibly around too long at a higher wage who can be replaced with cheaper workers can go. But there is also another group of workers who can be let go.... the low-level, low-skilled worker! Yes that's right $15r's, companies just might cut you loose all together!
5) ... automate. Those of you flipping burgers, twirling pizzas, running registers, sweeping floors etc do know the machines are coming don't you!? The machines that can do your jobs have existed for a very long time (try 50+ years ⬇) but cost too much at the time.
That is all changing today. Have you noticed cashiers are being replaced with self-checkout? Point of Sale (POS) systems are slowly coming to restaurants removing the need for waiters and waitresses. Now all you have to do is input your order, swipe your credit/ debit card, the order goes to the kitchen and out comes a server with your food... a server who can easily be replaced with a machine too!
Keep pushing companies with unrealistic demands of high pay for low-skilled work and you can be sure you will be replaced by a machine. If you do the math on the cost of these machines (which are coming down) in the long-term companies win. Businesses will make back the cost of the machinery in a very short period of time and also be relieved from the headaches of employees calling out sick, no-shows, vacations, health insurance, taxes, SSI etc etc.
And all of this goes for those of you in manufacturing too! Do you think running a sewing machine is job security? Think again!
Think serving a drink or pouring a beer is a safe job? NOPE..
6) ... if all else fails, shut the business down. If $15r's, unions, special interests and govt force companies to increase wages when margins are insanely tight as it is some businesses might just close up shop. Can't happen? Try again since we are already seeing it happen in Seattle, it WILL happen in Los Angeles and anywhere else businesses are forced to pay high wages for low-skilled workers.
As for successful small business owners who have "made it". They made it they don't need the headaches and threats. They made their money and will just walk away either shutting down or selling the business off to someone else who might do one of the above like automating.
Based on how easily you $15r's can be manipulated by your handlers we can be sure you all will take to protesting when these things happen. Protest away, but you cannot force someone to not replace you with machines or keep the doors open. You $15r's need to understand you have NO POWER over companies and all you are going to do is put yourself, and MANY Americans, out of a job.
Have we talked about 3D printing? Yeah just wait until that tsunami hits too!
Oh before anyone considers attacking this piece keep in mind yours truly is long-term unemployed completely written off by small and large businesses!
DNC Deputy Chair Keith Ellison argued that having a national border creates "an injustice" for workers seeking economic prosperity. He seems to believe if the door is wide open everywhere for trade, where people do business and come and go as they please then wages will be fairly paid everyone will be prosperous. With an open border there will be no permanent low-wage sector...
What Ellison ignores in his defense of the 12 million undocumented workers is they shouldn't be here period. Blaming capitalism, arguing for income equality is a lame excuse to justify the millions who broke our laws. It's not America's fault other countries suck economically. Those countries chose to go socialist route, or live under corrupt regimes who steal from the people which causes economic problems that force people to come to the US, legally and illegal. Blame them not the us or the system. Capitalism is freedom, anyone can do it so long as govt gets the hell out of the way. If the govt doesn't get out of the way then the people should remove said leadership, American colonists did it 240 years ago, there is NOTHING saying impoverished people cannot do the same today.
Lastly, they're not undocumented Congressman, calling them "undocumented" suggests 12M+ in the US have legal status to be here but their paperwork is tied up in red-tape, lost or the dog ate them! They're ILLEGAL ALIENS.
This fight for $15 leader, Naquasia LeGrand, is in complete denial, she has no clue how business economics works. She believes that a rapid wage hike now is a good thing because "people are losing their jobs as we speak". Well as I warned in 2015 there are 6 options business owners have but in the end it will result in more job losses.
When you increase wages you are in fact increasing operating expenses. This means costs go up. Your costs go up then business owners must raise prices to keep the doors open. While this sounds great many are already pushing the limit with price hikes risking the loss of customers/ clientele to larger businesses who have greater buying power which allows them lower costs. In the short run, small business owners will be the first victims of this social justice warrior act of insanity for income equality. Small business owners will first cut whatever expenses they can, next cur worker hours, followed by price hike and then a staff reduction. High prices poor service (will happen from lack of needed workers) will eventually lead to said businesses closing their doors because this push for $15 an hour doesn't work.
Larger businesses will be able to weather this storm longer as they can spread out the costs but they too will eventually make all the same cuts, where they haven't already, and again eventually cut staff. You see one of things no one is talking about is this won't be the last call for a wage increase. Once everyone is at $15 then there will be calls for $17... $20!
You 15'ers have no idea what you have done. Flipping burgers, stocking shelves, running a cash register is low-skilled work, YOU DO NOT DESERVE to make more money than people who have more skills and education! Americans DO NOT care about how you don't make a living wage to support your family of 5 on a part time job because that job was never meant to support a family of 4 or 5! That job was meant to offer entry level experience and training to young people, and to provide supplemental income for those with full time jobs. You have more or less signed your own job death warrant where you will be fired. Workers will be saddled with twice as many job duties to compensate, someday they'll be replaced with machines or again as I warned the business will close up.
Enjoy you wage hike over the next few years and bank every penny because you will need it when the job is no longer there.
You can always tell who in Congress had a real job or ran a business vs those who didn't! Does the phrase "skill set" mean anything to all of you dopes demanding fair/ higher wages?! Low level employees do not deserve the same pay. Let me say it again, people who work in low-level positions in various industries are not equal thus their pay should not be equal. What am I saying here? A burger flipper should not be getting the same amount of pay as a paralegal; both are low-level employees BUT one has a much higher skill set! This goes from burger flippers all the way up to CEO's who are the target of Van Hollen. There is no income equality or economic justice in the working world as there shouldn't be, get over it!
Ones skill set determines their pay not what they or how people think and feel how much they should be paid. Part-time work, low-level jobs are not meant.. correction have never been meant to provide a living wage let alone raise a family on! These jobs are created for young people to earn spending money, gain experience while in school for the most part OR provide supplemental income for a household with at least one household provider working full-time. If you have minimal education, married or not, have kids and are working at McDonald's earning $8.50 an hour that is what you are worth! That job was never meant for you to make into a career at 20-30+ hours a week to raise a family of four off of! You do not deserve to earn more than people who earned a 2 or 4 year degree and possess more skills! If a CEO is getting an increase in pay there is probably a reason for it, a reason a burger flipper or stock worker really didn't have much to do with! None of this logic will stop progressives like Dem Rep Van Hollen from looking to abuse the tax code to force companies to pay higher wages though.
No, no if they cannot encourage companies to pay more they'll just pass laws and use the now weaponized IRS to get the obama agenda for economic justice through.. "encouraging" companies through regulation to pay more! Pretty ballsy for a party now in the minority but still in power because obama has his magic veto pen.
Oh before anyone thinks of taking shots me for being critical of "fair wages" understand I am long-term unemployed... so think before you make a fool of yourself.
These idiots ought to learn economics and understand, for example, those who flip burgers are not equal to those who are paralegals as far as wages go. One of the key issues being deliberately left out of these debates over income equality and fair living wages is something called skill-set. Low-level/ low-wage workers are not equal and frankly these fascists insult the hard work many have taken to get a higher education to better themselves to earn more. How dare these socialists, fascists even, think they have a right to earn as much as someone who does more in their daily job duties! Why settle for obama's $10.10 per hour or $15 per hour these monsters demand, why not just demand a $1,000,000 per year to flip burgers? These people are insane and my calling them socialists/ fascists is not to be taken lightly. This is what socialists/ fascists do: they protest making demands, and when that fails they will intimidate which will lead to violence that we have seen around the world throughout history. Their propaganda utilizes the classic colors and imagery of socialist/ marxist/ communists...
Also take note these monsters are taking a page from Occupy with the parroting! I have no doubt many if not all of these protesters are supporters if not members of Occupy Wall Street.
The other issue deliberately left out of the debate is all these jobs these fascists are demanding a fair living wage are part-time jobs. These jobs WERE NEVER MEANT TO SUSTAIN a lifestyle to afford the higher level of living this entitlement generation has been raised to expect. Part-time jobs were meant to subsidize one who has full-time employment, for the inexperienced to enter the workforce to get experience, offer a source of income for young people/ students! If you are working 20-25+hrs a week at McDonald's or Walmart you need to understand that job was NEVER MEANT to sustain someone with a family of 3-4+ people!
As for the McDonald's patrons, shame on all of you for sitting there allowing these idgets to disturb your meal and push this socialist/ communists crap. I bet half of you whine and complain about liberals and their anti-capitalist agenda. Not to speak is to speak! Your silence rather than voicing against this protest only strengthens these radical tyrannical movements on the very economic system that allows you the money to eat but also provides the business to provide you with the meal! Hypocrites!
