The military considered it inferior and tasked Colt to build a similar weapon that had select fire (semi, burst and fully automatic) capability, but this clown and his ilk will never admit it. Civilian AR's are semiauto incapable of firing in full auto, but these asses lie that civilians are in possession of full auto AR's. When a licensed firearms dealer and popular YouTuber used military grade lowers on AR uppers the weapon will actually malfunction even meltdown when fired in full auto. Hell the round it fires, .223, is small compared to other caliber rifles, and in many cases handguns... ever hear of a Smith & Wesson 500?

Joe Biden is the gift that keeps on giving everyday now! While touring a Detroit factory Biden got into it with an autoworker who confronted him on his gun control policies. In 93 seconds Biden denied his call to ban/confiscate law-abiding gun owners weapons, telling the unnamed worker he's full of shit (in other words he's lying). Joe claimed he supported the Second Amendment while arguing against an individuals right to own any weapon they want by using the failed analogy of yelling fire in a theater. He argued he isn't against 2A by saying he and his son are gun owners, but you can't own something that needs a 100 round.
At this point Joe really steps in it, which is why his aid earlier tried to move things along. Clueless on the differences between semiautomatic and automatic weapons Biden continued saying he didn't say he wants to take peoples weapons away when he in fact did. And then the barely working lightbulb when off in his head realizing he did with regards to taking "AR-14's" away, as he was poking his finger in the workers face. The worker clearly didn't like it, “This is not okay man,” and Crazy Uncle Joe then threatened to slap the guy! More back and forth followed where Biden incorrectly stated you can't own a machine gun and so on as these things tend to go with him...
Biden and the worker actually are wrong with regards to machine guns. A law-abiding US citizen can own a machine gun... granted they can pass the DOJ background check, the ATF's in-depth background check, pay for their tax stamp to own said weapon, oh and then have the $20, $30, $40K+++ to own a fully automatic weapon. You can own a tank, a howitzer all kinds of firepower IF you have the money and can successfully get through ALL the hoops the govt will make you jump through. The Founder's intentions were clear that they wanted the People as well armed as the govt, regardless of what Crazy Uncle Joe, or any gun grabber says.

Biden was so thrilled with the endorsement he more or less told the country BETA will be his gun control.. confiscation czar telling the crowd, "This is not last you're seeing of this guy. After winning the war the Founders drew up the Constitution with the full intentions per THEIR WORDS for the people to be as well armed as the govt, so the people would not be in the same position they were in going into the Revolution. They wanted small govt, the people to live free, and politicians to have a limited PART-TIME role running the country, because the last thing they wanted was some bloated bureaucracy, a govt too big for itself where things could get out of control again (Yea we know look at the US today). Remember they just got done fighting a war the last thing they wanted was to have to go through that again thus the Second Amendment.
If the Founders were here today they would listen to the debate on guns and ask the Left:
"Does the govt have access to 'assault weapons', bazookas, cannons, tanks, fighter aircraft.... nuclear weapons?"

There are MANY civilians in possession of military weapons/ weapons of war. If you have the resources, money and clean background you too can have a machine gun up to and including a M134 minigun, various sized cannons & mortars, and other weapons. As predicted following Beto's vow to confiscate guns if elected, the other dem candidates are jumping on the bandwagon. Joe Biden told reporters that he wants to ban all weapons that have multiple round magazines, in other words all semi-auto guns (handguns and rifles).
"..magazines that have multiple bullets in them..." FTR all semi-automatic weapons are fed via fixed or removable magazine, or belt fed. What he is calling for IS a semi-auto gun ban.
Biden then tries to reassure people 2A rights won't be violated when in reality it will based on what he and the others want to do, "...this is not any - in any way a violation of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment doesn't say you can own any weapon you want, it never said that."

Georgia Democrat Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams dodged a direct question on her gun control position where she cosponsored a bill that would have led to gun confiscation. Progressives like Abrams want weapon confiscations they just don't have the spine to outright say it.
As demonstrated here, Abrams repeatedly went back to general talking point word mash on the need for "common-sense gun safety legislation". What does that even mean after the thousands of laws already on the books at the federal and state level? Democrats for the most part have gotten what they want on gun control, but they continue to chip away on the Second Amendment blatantly violating its Do Not Touch clause "shall not be infringed". Common sense gun safety means take them all away from the people.
According to Abrams semiautomatic weapons should be classified and treated differently, and ArmaLite rifles (AR-15's) have no place in the hands of citizens. You see it's not just ArmaLite rifles dems want to get out of the hands of commoners, they want all weapons including semi-auto handguns.
For those who are new to STR, let me explain what Abrams said, as I was once in sales and speak bullshit: I am a gun owner running for governor, because I'm an elitist it's okay for me to have any gun of my choice but you the commoner cannot be trusted. You should not have access to semiautomatic weapons, they should be highly restricted and only those of us elites should decide who can or cannot own a weapon.
AR-15's are scary black looking weapons that resemble those used by the military, you should not have access to them. All semi autos are bad you should only have access to muskets because that's what was around when the Second Amendment, which I and my party despise, was written.

R. Daryl Fisher, a candidate for Sheriff in Buncombe county, NC was speaking to a group on the issue of gun control, breaking down policies he's in favor of and willing to enforce if elected. The list he goes through sounds like it came right from a Bloomberg/ Soros funded gun control group... and it did because this was at a monthly Moms Demand Action meeting on March 7th.
Now first things first, there is a deceptive 32 second clip, that has practically gone viral, taking Fisher's words out of context. The comments/ headline suggests he's in favor of killing people to take their guns if they didn't surrender them should a gun ban become law or gun confiscation is ordered. This is categorically untrue, here's what he said:
"Well I'm gonna tell you now don't buy into the scare tactics, don't believe the scare tactics because you've heard people say 'you'll have to pry my guns for my cold dead hands' .. Ok, when you pass away we'll come get it. I dunno I'm just saying.. Joking, just a little there.
Now the government cannot take a firearm that was legally purchased. Based on the laws today, if somebody purchases the firearm legally, if we were able to pass a law tomorrow banning that firearm or banning that high capacity magazine, or banning mechanisms there is case law that states we cannot enforce what happened yesterday on a law passed today. That's called an ex post facto law, it's unconstitutional."
With that out of the way here are the Leftist gun control policies Fisher supports:
- Age to purchase any firearm raised to 21
There is no data supporting this move many localities, states and businesses are adopting. The majority of mass shootings have been executed by those 21 and over, with the exception of the Parkland shooting; which was easily preventable had the system many want to give more power to simply acted. If politicians want to go this route fine, but that also means the age to vote, register for the draft/ enlist in the military, age of consent/ adulthood MUST be raised to 21 too!
- Ban all "high capacity" magazines in handguns and long-guns
What is "high capacity"? Who determined 10 is enough for one to defend themselves? Some small caliber weapons allow 12-15+ rounds fit into a grip sized magazine. Hollywood has created the illusion all it takes is one shot in a gunfight, followed by people being thrown back through doors, glass or plaster walls after being shot. Doesn't work that way. As the Left loves to point out following police shootings, it takes many shots sometimes to bring someone down. Also not everyone under stress and their adrenaline pumping at a high levels are perfect shots. Our troops are proof of that, using many round in gunfights overseas!
- Banning the sale of ANY mechanism that will allow a weapon to fire in succession
This is by far one of the most deceptive and dangerous talking points being thrown around. It's intended public target is the evil bump stock, but as Fisher at least admits that ALL gun control activists leave out is this can more or less include just about ANYTHING. Who determines acceptable fire rate? What is too fast? And after they ban the devices what will they do about ones own finger!? Bump firing can be accomplished with just about anything including a belt-loop.. will that be banned as it would be a device/ mechanism that increases the rate of fire in conjunction with ones finder!!? A semi-automatic gun will fire as fast as the trigger can be pulled. This provision would not only target those evil black ArmaLite rifles [see "**FYI"] but also semi-auto shotguns and handguns!! If they ban the semi-autos they might as well ban revolvers too, here's why!
- While he apparently supports concealed carry and ensuring people are properly trained he wants to see the issuance be yearly vs every 5 years!?
This would cause a backlog in applications and the process, not surprising it will result in a nice revenue stream for the county but in fact a "TAX" to law-abiding gun owners. You can be sure the standards for the issuing of permits will be much harder. In CA it's next to impossible to get a concealed carry permit because the Sheriffs decide, and ones cause for self protection especially those who have had actual threats to their lives have been denied!
- "Any weapon that's designed for use by the military"
Wow could he be any more vague? All guns can be used by the military, but Fisher is most likely talking about the ArmaLite rifle. To be clear this weapon is inferior and would not be used by the military. The US Army in fact made requests for changes to be made to the weapon when it was presented to them. It is how the M-16 came about, to what is now most commonly used today, the M4. The ArmaLite rifle will fail under sustained fire in 3-5 minutes, yet because it looks like a military weapon Leftists want it banned.
- When asked about Australian style gun buy back [it was mandatory aka confiscation] Fisher said he wants to institute gun buyback programs.
This soundsreasonable but, where is he getting the money to do this? Maybe they'll use money seized from drug crimes (asset forfeiture) but we know what will happen, no doubt the taxpayer will be expected to foot the bill for said program. This is typical of Leftists, they want to do everything to make the world great, they just don't have the money to do it. Don't worry they love taxing people, or maybe residents Buncombe Cty might find themselves paying large fines often for the most minor offenses, like going 26 in a 25 Mph zone! This is a tactic many communities use to raise money, police are out in force, at every corner picking people off for the dumbest things.
This is not the ideal candidate Americans want to enforcing the law, especially one supported by a radical Leftist group like Moms Demands, backed by Bloomberg. Law enforcement officials know they can't be everywhere at once, people are in fact first responders, yet Fisher more or less systematically wants to see citizens disarmed. Those mechanism bans he talks about should scare the hell out of people too. Democrats never go small, and keep in mind Parkland student Delaney Tarr made it clear what Leftists true intentions are for gun control.

Not to anyone's surprise ABC's This Week panel argued in favor of more gun control, even gun confiscation, citing what other countries have done in wake of mass shootings. News flash for anyone not up to speed, the countries the US is constantly compared to 1) population is smaller than the US, thus we have more crime than they see 2) the US has the Second Amendment.
Whether the gun grabbers like it or not the Second Amendment IS absolute, it is the ONLY amendment with its own Do Not Touch clause. Go read the Amendments you'll see they are actually limited using words like "unless" or cover very specific situations! It's no surprise Hillary Clinton, like obama, is in favor of Australian-style gun control aka gun confiscation (mandatory gun buyback, and no people did not get their money back). While this sounds like a good idea, look at what happened in Norway, it was the equivalent to shooting fish in a barrel. Canada has had it share of gun crime and lets not forget the attack on Parliament! As for Australia, gun crime continues regardless of the law there where they just recently had a 15 year old jihadist kill a man right outside a police station!
Criminals and those with evil intent to kill WILL ALWAYS FIND A WEAPON. If they can't get a gun they will use some other weapon or a knife like we are seeing now in Israel.
All a gun ban in the US would do is create another economic boom for the black market by trafficking guns across the border along with drugs, illegal aliens and terrorists!
Taking guns away from law abiding citizens is not a rational solution, as it leaves innocent people incapable of defending themselves. Whether those in govt and law enforcement want to admit it they ARE NOT the true first responders. 99% of the time citizens, who are on scene thus true first responders, are the ones who have to deal with attacks and emergencies. Very rarely are police in position to stop or thwart an attack (terrorist or active shooter).
The Founders gave us the Second Amendment and wrote it clearly because they knew a tyrannical govt would rear its ugly face again. The right to keep and bear arms was not to go hunting, or sport shooting it was meant as arguably the last check and balance between the people and govt. Anyone holding public office or running for President who wants to see the population disarmed is a certified threat to the people and liberty.
Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy is calling for Congressional action to curb gun violence pushing anti-gun lobby talking points mainly universal background checks. First off background checks are already performed during a gun purchase from a licensed dealer be it at a brick and mortar shop, online retailer AND at a gun show. The only time that does not happen is between private parties; the infamous "gun show loophole", but it can happen anywhere again between private parties.
If you want to buy/ sell or transfer a gun from a friend, neighbor, acquaintance, family member etc dems want background checks run. That's right if your grandfather wants to give you his gun or you want to buy your brothers gun they want a background check run! This will not stop a maniac from killing people.
There are thousands of gun laws on the books not being enforced, just like immigration law. On almost all of the recent high-profile mass killings there were plenty of warning signs and agencies who FAILED to follow the law to stop the killers. Enter the calls for a universal background check, which is really coded language for universal registration.
Dems know there are no laws to stop the insane. So they have to build a bridge with additional legislation to get them to universal registration. Ann Coulter said it perfectly "universal registration means universal confiscation – universal extermination. That’s how it goes in history do not fall for “universal background checks”!” That is it folks that's all dems like Murphy to obama and Clinton want with their calls to take action. And now they have the wind on their back after the on-air execution of Alison Parker and Adam Ward. Parker's father is vowing to make something happen, he is what the dems have been waiting for!
