First off Trump wanted Comey to investigate the Russian collusion claims!

As for the Pres asking Comey to stop investigating Michael Flynn, it was an irresponsible, unprovable remark. No one knows what was said other than what Comey states, but there is no smoking gun demonstrating obstruction. In order for Trump to have obstructed justice he would have had to give Comey an ultimatum or direct threat to stop investigating Flynn "or else". Democrats show where Comey states his job was threatened anywhere in his remarks. Where is the bribe? Where is the proof of evidence being destroyed? Show the country the moment Comey, who was big about keeping detailed notes, points any of that out? You can't because it never happened.
As a matter of fact Comey points out he agreed with Trump that Flynn is a "good man". Flynn had already been fired for lying to the Vice President, this behind-closed-door discussion was more or less two guys talking about it where POTUS was more or less saying "ehh whats the point, he's a good guy I hope you let it go". Should he have said that? In hindsight no, but is it obstruction of justice? Of course not.
Saying "lift the cloud" and "I hope" are not acts of obstruction of justice!

First off, based on what's been reported there was no obstruction indicated. If Trump had said to Comey "end the investigation or I'll fire you" then yes that would be grounds, but based on what's been heard through the NYT's grapevine there's nothing there. Don't take my word for it, liberal Constitutional scholar Prof Jonathan Turley spelled that out...
Furthermore, Comey has a legal obligation to immediately report any acts of obstruction to the DOJ per federal law. Not take notes about it, sit on them for 2 mos only to share them with friends or whomever who tell a NY Times reporter what "you" thought completely out of context!
That said if we play along with the dems that Trump has obstructed an investigation (that is still ongoing), then why did Comey tell the Senate Judicial Committee he's never seen a higher authority stop an investigation?

So what are we to conclude? If Comey's memo is, as dems suggest, a clear indication the Pres was obstructing justice, then can we also make the leap that Comey lied to the Senate under oath! Comey could have just opened the door to being charged with perjury!

Just because Comey is gone doesn't mean investigations stop, acting FBI dir McCabe made it clear it's business as usual at the FBI. Investigations while Comey was Director are still ongoing and Trump himself wants answers. How can there be obstruction of justice to an investigation if it is still ongoing Jerry? Keep in mind a Congressional subpoena was and is still in force! The only thing missing from this hearing from waaaayyy back in Sept 2016 with FBI Director James Comey was Rep Ratcliffe or any republican Congress member (to date) requesting Comey's immediate resignation or call for impeachment. The Director has destroyed any confidence the American people had with the Justice system and the FBI. As long as he is in power no one will trust any investigation or decision that comes out of this agency.
This is just one of many examples as to why Sheriff Clarke and many others including STR are saying it's time for pitchforks and torches. The DOJ/ FBI are corrupt protecting the elite class, while our elected leaders take no action to curb the problem, ie request Comey's resignation or initiate impeachment proceedings.
