We do not know what kind of weapon was used, yet the Left, including this IIOWH, is calling for ban on "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines. Sheila Jackson Lee Wants to Separate Protections of the Second Amendment to Regulate for Gun Safety! (Video)

In the name of gun safety Sheila Jackson Lee said, "We have to separate the Second Amendments protection from the idea of regulation to stop a heinous, murderous individual like the perpetrator in Las Vegas from going from state to state unencumbered and buying guns".

Second Amendment reads: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

If we take Lee's word correctly, she wants to rewrite the Second Amendment to remove "shall not be infringed", as that is "the Second Amendments protection from the idea of regulation". This is the clause that is supposed to stop any and all regulations barring citizens from bearing arms. In Lee's (progressives) world you can have your guns America, but Congress will write laws that will and can infringe on said rights! They will determine what you can and cannot have.

Why do we need another law since many states, ie CA, NJ, NY etc, are already infringing on 2A!? Lee just wants to make infringing on gun rights legal and Constitutional!

Because of misinformation by groups like Moms Demand, which Lee cites she stand with, people actually believe an AR-15 is a military weapon. For the record the US military considers the AR-15 inferior to the M4. Just because it looks like a military weapon doesn't mean it is. Odd to hear someone like Jackson judge something by it's appearance. There are other weapons far more deadly than an AR-15, but the Left wants those scary black assault weapons banned. They seem to think if the inanimate object is removed from the equation then the people problem will be solved.

There is nothing any law could have possibly done to stop the Las Vegas attack, Pulse Nightclub, San Bernardino or any other mass casualty attack. Democrats are beating a dead horse with this call for more gun control, especially since it doesn't work. Chicago is the model example it doesn't work, as well as states like CA that still have gun violence regardless of all the laws passed. Why? Because criminals and terrorists don't follow the law.

Lee and her ilk want weapons confiscated, but are afraid to intro a bill to repeal the Second Amendment because they know its career suicide. So they chip away at our rights until someway, somehow they can get to a point to confiscate weapons unchallenged. Remember progressives work over the long term, every new law and reg that restricts us a little more gets them closer to their end goal, while building support by using tragedies like Las Vegas.

Dem Senator Wants Trump to Seize on His Unpredictability Intro Gun Control to End Gun Violence

The assault on our Second Amendment rights will never end regardless of who is in the White House. Sen Blumenthal says Trump is hardly committed to gun control, like this current admin and Congress, but is hopeful he will seize on his unpredictability to end gun violence.

Clinton Promises to Protect America From Terrorists and Fight Gun Violence

Hillary Clinton in the last leg of her campaign, speaking in Sanford, Florida, is making promises she won't be able to keep in protecting America from terrorists and fighting gun violence.

The woman who helped spark the Arab Spring, setting the middle east on fire, who has armed our enemies says she will defeat ISIS and protect America. While most uninformed Americans would welcome this rhetoric, those of us with a clue who understand ISIS sit back with a smile and ask how? Exactly how will she defeat an idea (ideas are the base of the koran that drives islamic terrorists)? To quote V from V for Vendetta:

The best either candidate can do is kill the leadership to show Al-Baghdadi is not the caliph. No doubt her solution for gun violence will be to punish law abiding gun owners. The killing fields of Chicago are proof progressive "common sense" gun control laws do not work. States with strict gun control laws are plagued with high rates of crime committed with weapons. Clinton is a fan of the UK and Australia gun bans/ confiscations but she knows those types of laws will never pass here.

No, Hillary Clinton has watched obama and seen what does and doesn't work. She will surely pick up where he left off pushing for regulations that do not need Congressional approval. She will push for multiple gun regulations that will require gun owners to carry unaffordable liability insurance, acquire licenses, pay high taxes and fees, etc etc. She is probably keeping an eye on California, whose Governor just signed some of the most draconian gun bills into law over the summer. Hillary is probably a huge fan of CA's new laws requiring a license to buy ammunition, ban on magazines, registering of "assault weapons" etc. Don't be surprised, if elected, she pushes for those bills on national level, because what goes in CA eventually goes for the nation! Upon taking possession of the firearm, the licensee shall comply with all requirements of this chapter as if the licensee were transferring the firearm from the inventory of the licensee to the unlicensed transferee."

So if you want to sell your gun to a friend, neighbor or family member you will have to have a license (FFL) to do so or we can safely assume go through an FFL.

Dems think by requiring background checks on every gun, gun violence will be reduced. Criminals by their very nature do not follow the law, so you dems can pass all the laws you want it will never have any effect on criminals. As for those who are mentally ill by all means get them into the database, but for the record Congresswoman the NRA is already in favor of that so what are you complaining about?

Atty Gen: Obama's Executive Orders on Gun Control 'Are Consistent With Constitution'

First off, thank you US Senate for confirming Eric Holder 2.0. America I hope you remember that when you go to the ballot box in November.

The Second Amendment is the only Amendment with a built in DO NOT TOUCH clause. That said, I'd like to know exactly how obama's executive orders are consistent with the Constitution when they violate that DNT clause?

"...shall not be infringed." Couldn't be any more clear, yet how many laws do we have violating our right to keep and bear arms? Obama's EO's will in fact violate peoples 2A right who have been put on watch lists or because they saw a shrink without due process. Selling a gun to a friend, family member or even to a gun dealer people will have to get an FFL?! This is insane and NONE of these policies will do anything to stop gun violence since criminals by their very nature do not follow the law!

If obama and progressives have their way they would outlaw 2A today but they don't have the stones to introduce a bill to repeal it. Obama Meeting with Attorney General to Finalize Executive Gun Control

Politico previously reported that the two key components of the executive orders will be “[tightening] the definition of what it means to be involved in gun sales” and the addition of new reporting requirements for licensed gun dealers.

Mark Kelly Pushes For More Gun Control, Admits No Law Can Stop Mass Killings

Mark Kelly, Gabby Giffords husband, continues to push misinformation and the anti-gun lobby's propaganda since the iron is still hot following the Oregon shooting. It's like Rahm Emanuel said "never let a good crisis go to waste"! Kelly starts out the interview with Jake Tapper claiming there are mass shootings weekly!

There are no weekly mass shootings committed by the mentally unstable like Oregon or Tucson! There ARE shootings in Gun Free Zones and cities/states that have heavy legislation against guns like Chicago though. Maybe he is referring to inner city crime, but instances like Umpqua and Newtown are not happening weekly and it's shameful to even suggest they are.

Kelly is telling an outright lie that 40% of gun sales are performed without a background check. There is no way to even ascertain let alone quantify such a figure legitimately. He like all elitist gun owners who are grabbers (they want access but want everyone else disarmed) is making up stats to suit an anti-gun political agenda. In other words how could he possibly know the % of illegal gun sales? Who is reporting and recording legal gun sales? It's completely absurd, Kelly is as much a threat to the Second Amendment as obama! A real journalist would have called him out on this but Jake Tapper is part of the anti-gun machine.

Not one gun grabber including Kelly has come up with a law that would stop a mass killing. Instead he and others like him come up with a blanket statement saying a lot of nothing like this: "...you know there's one pretty basic and simple solution is that members of Congress and people in you know elected leaders in state legislatures around the country can certainly do something about it" DO WHAT, WHAT SIMPLE SOLUTION? WHAT ACTION COULD LEGISLATORS POSSIBLY TAKE TO STOP A LUNATIC, COMPLETELY OFF THE RADAR WITH NO CRIMINAL OR MENTAL HEALTH HISTORY RECORD FROM KILLING PEOPLE?

Kelly himself admits, after Tapper directly asks what law could have stopped a mass killing, that there isn't one. Instead he goes back to lib talking points for [universal] background checks when they are already performed! Please those of you in doubt walk into a gun store or visit a dealer at a gunshow and try to buy a gun without filling out any paperwork. Slap your cash down, demand the weapon and watch what happens.

That said why for the love of God would anyone call for more laws and restrictions (with the 1000's already on the books unenforced) leaving their fellow man defenseless? The truth of the matter is there is NO WAY to stop a mass killing, we will always have sick minded and evil people among us seeking to inflict pain and chaos.

As for Kelly's take on Gun Free Zones he is just wrong, it's not even worth discussing.

This man clearly has an agenda to help the lefts long-term fight against gun rights. No one on the left will admit it and only obama hinted at it but what they want is to do what the UK and Australia have done, a complete ban on gun ownership followed by confiscation.

This jackass (yea I said it) needs to be quiet and just worry about his science project with his brother floating in space. Just because Kelly served in the military and his wife, fmr Rep Gabrielle Giffords, was the target for assassination doesn't mean he is now an expert on gun laws and policy. To trivialize Americans right to carry a weapon in public for self-defense equating us to wanna-be Clint Eastwood (assume he meant Dirty Harry) is insulting. Gun owners "know the score" and take the responsibility of carrying (concealed) a weapon in very seriously.

For the record a mass killing in 2012 at the Clackamas Mall in Oregon was thwarted not because the gunmen did what he accomplished and was time to end his life. The gunmen saw a good guy, Nick Meli, with a gun and knew his chance to create havoc was over, thus the killers suicide. As for Meli, the good guy with a gun, and relevance to this post, he DID NOT take the shot at the mass killer because he was concerned that if he missed the killer the round may hit an innocent person behind him!

That is the level of care, alertness and responsibility law-abiding gun owners possess when they take a weapon (concealed) out. Gun owners have NO desire to recreate a shoot out in streets of San Francisco as Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan Mr Kelly!

Kelly cited other issues too in this clip are just as annoying that I have no patience for. These attacks by progressives on our gun rights with outlandish claims has to end. This is serious and there is NO LAW that will stop a crazy person from killing. One would think after the Santa Barbara massacre people would have figured that out, but apparently a psycho killing with a gun, knife and his car just doesn't register with the gun grabbers. One thing is for sure many who have guns, private armed security, high walls/fences and security systems around their homes all need to shut the hell up until they give that all up! Obama Pushes Gun Control During Eulogy for Slain Pastor

Obama just couldn't resist pushing his anti-gun agenda during his eulogy for slain Charleston massacre victim Pastor Pinckney. Obama worked in the 90% lie (poll conducted by anti-gun MSNBC of only 1200 people) but this time with a twist. Instead of saying "90% of Americans support" he changed the language claiming "the vast majority of Americans, the majority of gun owners, want to do something about" gun violence in America. If you are not up to speed on the debate you will agree with this and see no harm but the statement is about that false poll. While gun owners do want something done about violence we DO NOT condone the disarming of the country! There is far too much regulation as it is restricting our 2A rights. I think the recent murder of a New Jersey woman by her ex waiting for gun permit is proof of that. For the record had just one person in that church been armed they would have been able to put the killer down when he had to reload (he reloaded 5 times = bad shot).

Of those mass killings his majesty listed he conveniently left out those mass killings were committed by individuals with serious mental disorders. He wants America to believe these were sane people with hate running through their veins who just decided to kill one day. NO, they were sick minded individuals who the system failed help in one way or another. Obama also left out the fact that the Charleston killer used a handgun and reloaded 5 times. Why does this matter? Because it was a handgun used with standard size magazines, meaning none of the laws he and progressives tried to get passed would have prevented this massacre. Oh and obama left out the Isla Vista, CA killer from his rant too because that killing also proves the lefts attack against guns is flawed. The Isla Vista, CA killer not only took lives with LEGALLY obtained handguns but he also killed with a knife and used his car as a weapon driving into people and crowds. One of his fatal victims was a cyclist who was hit so hard they went through the windshield of the killers BMW!So you see if one wants to kill they will find a way to do it, no law will stop them.

Barack obama is a disgrace to the office he holds and this nation. He takes every opportunity to politicize and divide this nation amping up anti-gun crowd. Just so you know huge anti-gun nut Piers Morgan is calling for leadership in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage, because the momentum is on the lefts side right now to get their agenda through!

Rove: The Only Way to Stop Violence is to Remove Guns From Society

"...basically the only way to guarantee that we would dramatically reduce acts of violence involving guns is to basically remove guns from society and until somebody gets enough oomph to repeal the Second Amendment, that's not gonna happen."

Karl Rove just helped conservatives out by proving there are no differences between republican and democratic progressives. They both think the same but use different methods of delivery and messaging. Maybe Rove made this suggestion knowing it's what democrats want so he could then go into the issue of mental illness in which no one ever seems to want to talk about. He explains that there were plenty of warning signs leading up to the Charleston massacre that were overlooked.

The Second Amendment should never ever be considered of have anyone suggesting it should be repealed, even when one is making an argument as Rove did here. (By the way you can be sure other sites will spin this that he is in fact calling for it.)

The Second Amendment is clear "...shall not be infringed." yet progressives are all calling for more laws even though many experts have said no law could have prevented this recent mass killing. The real problem with progressives is that they always go after guns and 2A instead of addressing mental health and violent criminals who are at the root of the majority mass killings.

DC has done nothing to address mental health issues. They have not been enforcing guns laws already on the books to deal with violent criminals either. I think Bill O'Reilly might be onto something calling for a new federal law:
"If a person is caught with a gun in any crime at all, it automatically becomes a federal beef. If convicted, the criminal gets a mandatory ten years in federal prison."

This is something many could get on board with but problem number one means more big govt and number two Bill O also wants a national gun registry. That isn't going happen, gun owners as well as the NRA and other pro-gun groups will fight it all the way to the Supreme Court.

We will always have sick people and violent criminal among us. If they want to kill they will find a way to do it no matter how many laws are created. But disarming people is not the answer to stop these acts of violence. Criminals by their very nature don't follow laws so more gun laws are not the answer. Almost all mass killings and shootings take place in gun free zones or states/ cities with very strict gun laws. States that allow open carry or make obtaining concealed weapons permit reasonable do not have these problems. How about we stop infringing on peoples right to defend themselves?!
