100 Million Americans Out of Work: Media Touts Unemployment at 3.8%, Nope Try 21.5%!

The May unemployment numbers are out and like all the previous reports the media is not being honest with Americans as they praise these bs numbers.

First and foremost this is NOT a bash on Pres Trump. His economic policies are in the right direction unlike the previous administration's, who did everything possible to hurt the economy in the name of social justice. Trump even pointed out last August the UE numbers are not accurate...

This site is about telling the truth regardless of who is in the White House, that said...

SHAME ON EACH AND EVERY economist, financial expert, political pundit/ activist ranting and raving over "3.8%", when 18-20+ mos ago you ALL were ripping the last admin over the number of Americans out of work. The same millions unemployed during the obama admin remain unemployed now.

The real UE rate when calculated the old correct way is 21.5% NOT 3.8%. Those following this site on this issue know ShadowStats is cited as the source for this info. They are not cooking up the numbers, ShadowStats is simply taking the same BLS numbers reported today and calculating the UE rate the way it use to be done factoring EVERYONE into the rate.

Yes, 100M Americans remain out of work, when you factor in those on and off the books as well as Americans who have jumped on disability because their UE benefits ran out. As a matter of fact, those out of the labor force increased (170K Americans) between April and May, from 95.745 to 95.915.

Businesses are closing, large retail chains like Sears are closing stores, Toys R Us is gone, jobs are still being lost, as businesses close, even though this report cites new jobs created.

Let me explain to you all what's happening:

- ABC Co has been in business for 5 years and has 100 employees

- XYZ Co has been in business for the same time and has the same number of employees, BUT is hiring another employee, for total of 101.

- Employee 1 at ABC Co is applying and will be hired by XYZ to fill that new job opening. XYZ's "new employee" will be counted in the unemployment/ jobs number report as a "new job created".

- ABC Co will have a few options with the loss of their employee:
  · They will either hire someone (ALREADY employed) from another company but will not be considered a new job creation.
  · Hire someone on the books unemployed
  · NOT hire anyone to fill that empty role, instead promote from within or spread the absent workers duties out to other workers.

What the jobs report number is not including are those people no longer counted in the jobs report, who are not being hired. Yes, some people on unemployment are being hired to lower the rate, but the masses who have been unemployed for years remain jobless, and honestly written off by EVERYONE.

The report is bunk, most of the people getting jobs are those ALREADY employed, switching jobs or companies. Read it again and let it sink in, because many of you know people who are out of work, yet you're hearing all this wonderful economic news, even though job losses continue.

The millions unemployed during the obama years didn't all of sudden find jobs or disappear since Jan 20th 2017. WE (yours truly is extreme long term unemployed) are still here looking for work, but NO ONE will hire us because we have been unemployed too long. That's it, that's our sin for being unable to find work. WE WANT JOBS but recruiters, headhunters, hiring managers and the like who pass us over because we're unemployed too long continue to add to that unemployment gap. Making matters worse the next bunch of recruiters, headhunters, hiring managers will use the same excuse not to hire us resulting in a NASTY circle.

So yes, I say SHAME ON EACH AND EVERY economist, financial expert, political pundit and activist who ranted and raved over the millions unemployed during the obama years, but have now gone silent since a changing of the guard in the Oval Office.

This economy is still weak, we're still taking on massive debt, a lot of the red flags from years past are showing up again. The US economy is on life support, it will crash. You've been warned.

100 Million Americans Out of Work: The Media LIES, Trump Points Out Real Unemployment Remains High

 

While the media and many pundits do a victory dance over the newly released jobs report, claiming unemployment is at 4.3%, the fact of the matter remains millions of Americans are unemployed. Don't take my word for it, President Trump made that fact clear!

I want to get this fact out in the open first so there is no mistake or people take this post as a slam on Pres Trump. Yes, in the past similar unemployment pieces posted on this site were slams on obama, but that is because his policies and Congress' inaction contributed to the lack of job growth, actually they caused job loss!

This time around the blame is going directly on the do nothing, useless, inept, incompetent, impotent Congress. Let's be honest the President for the most, be it Trump or obama, really can't do much to stimulate economic growth. They depend on Congress to create legislation for them to sign into law. Obama's economic policies hurt industry, Trump is taking action to grown industry. Now for those of you in doubt about Congress being useless, here's a simple test: did they pass the obamacare repeal they promised? No. These people are not taking the legislative action necessary to spark the economy, create jobs and reverse the massive economic bubble that will burst.

Per the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
6.981 million Americans are on the books unemployed for July, UP 4000 since June
94.657 million Americans are out of the labor force... when you factor in those on disability (gaming the system because their US benefits have run out) and people completely written off (like yours truly) who aren't factored in, there are far more than 100M Americans out of work.

The actual unemployment rate is 22%, and has been that way for far too long. It is just 3% away from being where UE was during the Great Depression!



Sorry to be party pooper but nothing has really changed in the last 8 mos. It's impossible to go from "the economy is going to collapse" prior to Jan 20, 2017 to "the economy is rocking" Aug 4! All the economic turmoil we've been facing remains. The national debt continues to climb $19.9T, spending is out of control, student debt is $1.5T, people have no savings, we are still in that eye of the storm of the stealth depression we've been in since the experts claimed we're in a "recovery".



Again this is not bashing Trump, it's bashing everyone in DC who is ignoring a major problem coming that will dwarf 2008. "The Stock Market is making new highs"... uh huh, why? Who is buying the stock? Institutions for the most part(they're playing the numbers), investors who can afford to lose some money, companies buying their own stock back. Again most Americans have nothing in the bank, their barely making it, so they aren't the ones buying Amazon @ $987/sh and Apple @ $156/sh. "Well people are buying new cars", yea you know why? Banks and auto lenders are doing subprime loans on cars and trucks that are going into default! Same problem we saw with subprime home loans is about to happen in the auto industry!

100 Million Americans Out of Work: 235K Jobs Added is "Nothing Burger", Millions Remain Unemployed

Many conservative outlets are doing a victory dance over today's jobs report where 235,000 jobs were created and unemployment rate is at 4.7%. Sorry to bust your bubble but this is a nothing burger, there are still over 100 MILLION people out of work and the unemployment rate is still sitting around 22-23%!

Look at that chart how the "official" and U6 have dropped, that's because of people who left the labor force!

The same people praising today's news ignored the rest of the same report that shows 7.5M are unemployed, which means there are as many people on the books today unemployed as those who lost jobs during the economic crash! That means there was no economic recovery.

Let's be honest about "jobs created". Person "1" going from Job "A" to Job "B" is just moving one person from a job to another that's being recorded as job creation. People with jobs are the ones getting jobs for the most part! Those of us on the sidelines, people like myself who DEFINE the "Forgotten Man", aren't even being considered for jobs, including part-time jobs.

235K jobs being filled isn't going to cut it and frankly with the direction technology is going many jobs just aren't coming back! How could they, when we have this to look forward to...

As technology advances there will be fewer jobs for people! You might need someone in the truck cab to manage things while the auto-pilot is running today but eventually AI will advance where you won't need anyone in the cab. Same goes for Flippy, might need someone making sure everything is going fine but eventually a machine will be there to do it all. Heck machines will be building machines and then what!?

We need to bring all the manufacturing back to the US that has been shipped overseas to save what jobs we can. Govt needs to get out of the way of innovation so new jobs can be created to replace those lost not returning or replaced by machines.

Obviously people want to project happier times under Pres Trump but burying the truth is irresponsible and unacceptable. Because of the "good guy"/ "do the right thing" gene, I'm compelled to say the things others won't...

The economy is not rocking, things are not better, the national debt is still at $20 TRILLION and growing (the Pres plans to spend another trillion in infrastructure spending), poverty is still high etc etc. We're still broke America, still borrowing money to keep things afloat and still in a stealth depression. All the bad economic numbers pointed out during obama's reign of terror still remain under Trump. "Yea but the DOW is at record levels!" Uh heh, the bigger the DOW gets the worst things will be when the bubble bursts...

100 Million Americans Out of Work: Jobs Rate Drops Because Americans Have Given Up Looking for Work

Wow the jobs rate drops to 4.6%, the lowest it's been since 2007! A whopping 178,000 jobs were created in a country of 330million. That obama and his economic policies are working our great aren't they!?

Surely you don't believe what you're hearing about the state of the US economy? Curious America, is the FAKE NEWS media telling you why the rate dropped? Did they tell you another 446,000 Americans have given up looking for work? Those no longer included in the labor work force rose to 95,055,000.

For the hard-headed out there saying the economy is great and my numbers are wrong, no you are wrong. STR doesn't make these figures up, they come directly from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

95,055,000 Americans are NOT in the labor force
+7,400,000 Americans are unemployed (on the books)
= 102,455,000 Americans are out of work

As always this number is much higher if you factor in those who worked the system who are now receiving disability insurance which is at record levels.

The real unemployment rate remains at 23% just below where it was at the height of the Great Depression(25%).



I've been posting about the job numbers and state of the economy ad nauseum for years now. Things are not sunshine and rainbows, the state of the US economy is dismal. You cannot have job and economic growth in country whose economy has shifted to being service based vs manufacturing. We don't make anything here and until that happens the number of jobs available will continue to dwindle. With the onset of technology, robotics etc it will become even harder for people to find work. The people protesting #Fightfor15, aka $15'ers, cannot understand any of this. They don't realize their actions are only accelerating automation within the service industry as I warned last year!

Do not expect to see drastic changes under the incoming Trump administration either. Proposing to spend $1 Trillion on infrastructure from the start to already out of control spending is not going to help matters. We have a massive economic bubble powered by residential and commercial estate...

... along with student loan debt topping $1.3Trillion on their way to bursting. As Harry Dent warned when the economic bubble bursts, it will be the final bubble to burst.

IF Pres-Elect Trump can bring manufacturing back to the US it could slow down the inevitable. But not if the level of debt which is much greater than the $20 trillion being thrown around isn't addressed. Offering financial favors and tax incentives to companies is not going to solve our problems, you're just moving money around from one pocket to the other. We need a new pocket full of money to tap into, a massive economic boom has to happen, otherwise Trump's plans are just pumping more useless drugs into a terminally ill patient.

Spend your money wisely folks. It's better to tie it up in assets than sit in a bank that may go under in which you could be on the hook to bail-in! Yea! You might want to find out if your bank is one who changed its terms

“There are a certain percentage of people staying home,” said Dan North, economist at Euler Hermes, during an interview with FOXBusiness.com. “If benefits are great in some states, people will just stay home,” he noted. Those benefits may include welfare, food stamps and Medicare.

“It’s not that people are lazy, they are just not stupid,” Michael Tanner, senior fellow at the Cato Institute, which advocates limited government, tells FOXBusiness.com. Pirro Rips Democrats For Oppressing and Suppressing Minorities

Judge Pirro took a page from Trump's speech the other day to hammer on democrats for doing nothing for minorities they pander to, to stay in power. Many of the towns and cities (and some states for that matter) that are under democrat control, some for long periods of time, are broke and run down. Yet who do dems blame for their failures? Republicans and white people!

Democrats are behind the poverty, failed economies, loss of jobs, broken educational systems, racial divide and hate we see in the news plaguing many minority communities. +7,400,000 Americans on the books listed as unemployed
= 102,108,000 Americans out of work!

Now keep in mind this number doesn't include those who are using their disability insurance (at record levels) after their unemployment benefits ran out!

If the economy, according to obama, is in a recovery...



... and we've been saved from another depression then why are over 100 million Americans still out of work? Why did only 38,000 people find a job in May? Why are Americans bringing home less money now than they did 8 years ago? Obama just this week bragged about job creation and how well the US is doing but let's be honest those jobs "created and saved" are part-time jobs being filled by Americans who already have a full-time job or 1-2 part-time jobs because there is no full-time work available.

Now for that employment rate of 4.7% the imperial obama regime will brag about, it's a joke since another 450,000 left the workforce and were not factored in(as always). The true unemployment rate continues to hold at 23%...



FYI the highest the UE rate was during the Great Depression was 24.9% in 1933.

So why are people bringing home less and no full-time jobs available? I'll tell you why as I have been saying repeatedly here for years:

There is no economic recovery. We were not saved from an economic depression because we are in fact in the eye of a storm of a stealth depression that will get worse.

What nation in history has ever pulled itself out of a depression when it produces nothing? All the great economic scholars would laugh to hear a debtor nation whose economy is based on service is proclaimed by its leader to be in full recovery with less than 1% GDP growth for the quarter.

Spend your money wisely America. There is absolutely nothing saying we couldn't end up like Venezuela!

Sen Sessions: Admin Hides Immigration Histories of Terrorists, Asks For Blank Resettlement Check

What kind of pure insanity is going on in this country anymore? Sen Sessions is one of the few rebels left in Washington who is looking out for this country while Darth Hussein continues to fundamentally transform the USA.

There is no logical reason for any middle eastern refugees to be brought to the US now. Aside from the security risks pointed out on this site there is the economic impact. As argued when the issue of illegal aliens invading the US comes up we are broke. This country does not have the money to care for our veterans or those who worked hard contributing to Social Security let alone care for the refugees. We have over 100 million people out of work, 40+ million living in poverty and the list goes on and on.

The gulf states should be forced to take the refugees obama wants to bring to the US. It makes sense financially and frankly culturally! Why bring a muslim to the US when they would be better suited in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain Qatar etc!? As Sessions points the FBI and intel experts have made it clear they cannot vet these people as there are no records or databases to cross reference in Syria or other countries.

Based on the percentages the obama admin will be letting several hundred terrorists (136 per 85K) into the US. This is criminal and a violation to protect the country.

We have 13+ months left of obama Darth Hussein and as warned after the 2014 election he will become unleashed. This man is going to do everything he can to completely transform this country into a third-world nation. He has no intentions of protecting us and couldn't careless of the social and economic impact. If Congress does not invoke the power of the purse to get him under control this nation will suffer irrecoverable damage. Americans Are Losing Jobs While Illegals Are Getting Jobs Thanks to Obama

The obama regime can tinker with the employment numbers all they want to hide the fact they have clearly given preferential treatment to illegals turning American citizens into second class citizens. There is no incentive to come to the US legally since the regime is handing out work permits. From 2009-2014 957,000 illegals received work permits, while another 5.5 million permits were issued to aliens. While we welcome legal immigration shouldn't there be emphasis on getting Americans jobs before those jobs are given to legal and illegal aliens? Thanks to obamnesty the numbers of jobs created/ filled will look good on the books but they are going to illegal and legal aliens! What about American citizens?

This govt proves time after time they do not care about the American people. 100 million are out of work right now, have you heard anyone on the hill talking about doing anything to get the economy going and put those of us long term unemployed back to work? How many bills has this new republican Congress, who promised progress was coming, passed to get us back to work?

FYI those in DC thinking the money earned will stay here you're dreaming. Sure a few bucks will be spent for housing, food and necessities but the bulk of earnings is sent back to the illegals nation of origin family. One US dollar goes much farther in a third-world nation than it will in the US, so don't bank on those revenues. This only proves illegals presence here will hurt the economy. There are less dollars in our economy which means lower tax revenues that will equate in govt programs some depend on will be redlined much quicker, esp since illegals are tapping social services programs. Illegals offer no benefit to the US economy and in fact hurt it while stealing jobs from unemployed Americans.

Obama Claims 11 Million Jobs Have Been Created But...

... the truth is there are 11 million fewer Americans in the labor force!

It gets better from there folks 1 in 5 workers is an illegal or legal immigrant which will most definitely climb since emperor obama issued executive amnesty to 5+ million illegals. You do understand that all the stats coming from the govt on employment are completely incorrect now since that influx of illegals is not being factored in!? With no facts his majesty claims the majority of jobs created were full-time. This coming from a guy who lies incessantly, fact is most of jobs "created" are most likely people job hopping where job they landed is being counted as a new job created. Sorry going from full-time job A to B is not job creation. Also consider companies have backed off hiring full-time employees to reduce their exposure to obamacare penalties. These are facts that have been in the headlines for over a year. If we are in a recovery why are there still 100 million Americans out of work? Why does the Fed continue to keep interest rates at zero, while still pumping money into the system? You don't need to be told all of this, you already know obama is lying pushing these false figures. So what should you do with vids like this accompanied by data showing otherwise? It needs to get out and explained in a simple manner to those who don't normally hear it. The messaging of conservatives has to change. We can share all this material amongst ourselves but that is preaching to the choir. Lies from his majesty need to get out to those he and his ilk pander to. Do you believe all the drones protesting for income equality understand their jobs are at risk with the influx of illegals coming into the US? A lot of the middle class, inner city and minorities have no clue what is coming and they'ss tell you they haven't felt any kind of an economic recovery. But if they are shown obama's policies are what is hurting this country they will eventually realize its not the big evil corporations that are to blame but what his majesty is doing to those companies is what limits opportunities. Sheriffs Head to Washington Warn Obama’s Illegal Amnesty Will Devastate US Communities

These sheriffs better be careful speaking out against the imperial emperors illegal executive amnesty. Some might lose funding or be charged with a hate crime! It wouldn't be a surprise if some of them come under federal investigation by the DOJ for invoking their First Amendment rights. We can applaud them for standing up for the people because obamnesty will not only hurt us economically and socially but the influx of illegals will put a strain on police & sheriffs already overworked.

The sheriffs appeal to Congress to act against emperor obama is commendable but the majority in Congress want amnesty. Nov 2014 set precedent just as previous elections with swings in power that the people are onto this govt and will throw out whomever is in power when they act against us. Congress knows this and it is why they want illegals here, they want these new uninformed, uneducated, unengaged future voters who will be loyal to those who give them all their free stuff! Congress has already proven this to be true with the trillion dollar CRomnibus bill that was passed which not only funds obamacare but amnesty too! Now does this make any sense for those who called out the emperors illegal action to have just funded it??

What these sheriffs need to be doing is look into any and all legal power they have to start arresting the power elite who violate the law and the Constitution. The military has been neutered by this regime so now the burden for someone somewhere to uphold their oath to do something is falling on law enforcements shoulders... but I'm not holding my breath.

Sen Sessions: Illegals Under Executive Amnesty Will 'Cost Money' to Taxpayers in 'Long Run'

The majority of illegal aliens entering the US are not the best and brightest. They are poorly educated without even a high school diploma, under-skilled who work low paying jobs. They will not be contributing much to the US economy, will not create jobs (maybe some federal ones to process them) and will not be paying much in anything in taxes. Social Security is already maxed out and these people who have not paid into it will have access! That's just one program there are many others illegals will max out taking from Americans who have paid into the system for a lifetime!

As Sen Sessions explains they will in fact take advantage of many of the tax exempt programs and benefits. A tax exemption for them means that money they should be paying will be covered by another taxpayer. Nothing is free someone somewhere will have to pay! Now let's be clear this has NOTHING to do with income equality, it is not a justification to raise minimum wage. Jobs are scarce so in actuality you will have competition by way of who is willing to work for less, not more! Many on the left will more than likely take this as another reason to raise minimum wage to $15/hr for flipping burgers and sweeping floors. Doesn't work that way in the real world. Those who possess low wage jobs are being paid what is commensurate with the job and their experience. Let me also say because of the influx of illegals taking these jobs from Americans they have in fact driven wages down for said jobs. As I've explained here many times illegals tend to live in packs sharing living costs unlike most Americans who are not living 2-4 families in one home like illegals will!

Executive amnesty must be stopped, obama doesn't have the legal authority and we cannot afford 5-11 million people added to our social entitlement system who are not paying into it. Those of you on the left barely making it you are going to feel this as much as the people you attack on the right! Amnesty is bad for all Americans and our economy. Politicians on both sides only want amnesty to tap into a new pool of voters to hold power since we all are wising up to the crooks in DC!

Chicago Activists Unchained! Rage Against Democrats, Destroy Black Leadership

Paul McKinley may look familiar to some, he was one of many that let Al Sharpton and black leaders have an earful during a town hall meeting about what they have done to the black community in Chicago. It's refreshing to hear people like McKinley, Mark Carter, Joseph Watkins and Harold Ward speak out against the neoliberal progressive machine especially the black democratic political leadership who are mainly proud members of the race hustling industry. Black leaders from Sharpton to Rep J Lewis all have something in common, they all have played a role in patronizing black Americans that it's whiteys fault but these race hustlers are the ones who put their own people in a corner telling them they are no good and won't get ahead. How do we know this to be true? Look at the communities and who has been running them over decades it ain't whitey as these gentlemen make abundantly clear.

I think with obamas election and lack of any progression within the black community they have woken up and realized they're all being used to only help their elitist handlers stay in power, get rich while they remain down and out. Last year we saw a hint of this revolt and once in a while we see indications the tide is changing like with 82 yr old black grandmother early midterm voter. Ferguson MO is a mess but the actual citizens there know, they know its their leadership white and black responsible for the tension in their community and have been vocal about removing them all too!

Many will want to take swipes at these men and the black community for being asleep for so long but instead how about we welcome and embrace them? McKinley says they have no TEA Party why not help them organize and join the conservative movement because we need them! The left is shaking in their boots right now becuase they're losing what they thought were guaranteed voters. Mark Levin Goes Off on Chamber of Commerce Head Giving GOP Ultimatum to Pass Amnesty

How can one head the Chamber of Commerce(aka Chamber of Crony Capitalism), which is supposed to be pro-business & jobs, but push for amnesty that will KEEP millions of Americans out of jobs while adding more Americans to the unemployment lines! Thomas Donahue is in cahoots with Karl Rove and DC progressives to ram amnesty through.

We don't need these people here the jobs Donahue and other progs claim are not filled is a LIE. Employers are cherry picking applicants, I know this because I AM LONG TERM UNEMPLOYED AND CANNOT GET A JOB with a college degree and YEARS of legitimate experience! The jobs Donahue and other progs claim Americans don't want is partially true! True only because illegals have DRIVEN WAGES down making it extremely difficult for Americans to accept. It makes no sense to take a job that will leave you upside down financially! You see the majority of Americans DO NOT LIVE IN PACKS LIKE ILLEGALS WHO ARE SHARING LIVING EXPENSES. That little fact IS ALWAYS left out! I know it's true because I have seen it firsthand when I worked in the banking industry!! I know the games they play and how they work the system.

Chamber of Crony Capitalism is no friend to the American worker. Like I have said we are on our own as it appears NO ONE, except for a few rebels in Congress, is on our side!

Sessions: Fed Stimulus Has Not Benefited Working Class

Sen Sessions continues to be one of the few voices in DC who speaks for the people. While others push regime propaganda and the lies that everything is sunshine and rainbows he provides a dose of reality!

The number of people out of the labor force will continue to increase because of failed economic policies from this administration and the actions coming out of the Fed. Yellen is practically parroting obama talking points. Jobs lost are not coming back for two reasons 1) the inevitable, technology gets better where people are being replaced through software and automation 2) companies hit hard over the last couple of years have had to learn how to run lean. It has worked for many in cutting costs by delegating duties of 10 to 5, so those jobs are gone...

The nation is not in a recovery because the Fed continues to pump money, literally printing/ digitizing obey out of thin air backed by NOTHING, into the economy while refusing to increase interest rates. Why? Because they know once they start increasing rates SHTF again! The money supply is out of control, devaluing the dollar next to nothing at this point and this is all done to prop up the economy to give the illusion of a recovery. What the Fed is doing to the economy is the equivalent of giving a dying patient a shot of adrenaline! They all know it too!

Until DC changes the tax laws, eases up on regulations, gets the EPA under control and tells the unions to shove it the availability of jobs will continue to dwindle because companies are going to continue to run lean, outsource operations overseas. When manufacturing returns to the US, when the nation once again becomes a producer instead of a servicer than jobs will come back. This isn't rocket science folks, it's Econ 101 that the majority in DC and definitely not the clown in the white house ever took class in!

100 Million Americans Out of Work: Unemployment Rate Drops as Number of Americans Out of Labor Force Hits Record

The new employment numbers are out and of course it is nothing but a pack of lies to win over the uninformed class. The media will continue to push propaganda like false employment rates to put this admin and Congress in a good light as we get closer to the midterm elections. The uninformed class will see unemployment is dropping, things must be better so they should just keep the monsters who are causing the economic problems we have in power for another term!

The article by CBS indicates “Not only is job growth continuing, but it is accelerating”, this is PURE DECEPTION! Those getting jobs that are being factored in for "job growth" & "xxx,xxx jobs added" are people who ALREADY have a job getting hired somewhere else. Think about it for a minute if the economy is getting better and real jobs are being created then why did the number of those out of the labor force increase?! Ask yourself why the unemployment rate is at "6.3%" if 800K MORE people left the labor workforce!? Shouldn't the 92M out of the labor force be dropping not rising if we are in a recovery and real jobs are being created!?

The real unemployment rate continues to hold around 23%



Those seeing the headline may be questioning how one comes to 100 million Americans out of work? Well the number is wrong.... it's higher!
92,594,000 as reported today are out of the labor work force
+9,753,000 unemployed per the BLS
= 102,347,000

BUT it doesn't end there, a number of Americans are no longer qualified for unemployment benefits and have tapped into disability insurance which is holding at 10,978,040 (as of the end of 2013). The number of Americans on disability has spiked since 2008, what the exact figure is unknown but it's safe to assume not all are truly disabled.

Another figure not factored in is the number of youth unemployed(16yrs+). In some states it is at depression era levels; makes sense since we are in a stealth depression this is one segment we are told the truth on. Why are teens unable to get jobs (predominantly part-time)? Because adults who can't find work are taking the jobs teens would normally fill to compensate for their job loss, some working 2-3 part-time jobs.

If we had the actual numbers of youth UE and people on disability, to make up for lost UE benefits, we are well over 105 million possibly close to 110 million people out of work! Yes a third of Americans... the numbers don't lie!

You are being lied to America by the very system & people responsible for the economy being so bad. I am long-term unemployed, for the record I have NEVER taken a penny from the govt. there are no new jobs from a growing economy out there. The jobs lost over the last couple years are not coming back either! Companies have learned how to operate with smaller staff, couple that with obamacare you will see reductions in workforce to minimize the impact of obamas legacy.

There are no jobs in the US because we have gone from being a producer nation to a servicer nation. We make nothing here no thanks to the anti-business policies coming out of DC by BOTH sides. Taxes, regs, EPA, unions etc have run companies out of the states overseas. I do not fault companies going overseas for lower production and labor costs; they are in business to make money not break even or go broke! Want the jobs brought back to the US KICK ALL INCUMBENTS OUT! DC has to change, the tax code needs to be scrapped, the EPA must be gutted and revamped, unions time has come and gone.

Report: More Than 92 Million Americans Remain Out Of Labor Force
WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Despite the unemployment rate plummeting, more than 92 million Americans remain out of the labor force.

The unemployment rate dropped to 6.3 percent in April from 6.7 percent in March, the lowest it has been since September 2008 when it was 6.1 percent. The sharp drop, though, occurred because the number of people working or seeking work fell. The Bureau of Labor Statistics does not count people not looking for a job as unemployed.

The bureau noted that the civilian labor force dropped by 806,000 last month, following an increase of 503,000 in March.

The amount (not seasonally adjusted) of Americans not in the labor force in April rose to 92,594,000, almost 1 million more than the previous month. In March, 91,630,000 Americans were not in the labor force, which includes an aging population that is continuing to head into retirement...

...“The number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) declined by 287,000 in April to 3.5 million; these individuals accounted for 35.3 percent of the unemployed. Over the past 12 months, the number of long-term unemployed has decreased by 908,000,” the press release stated.

Employers have now added an average of 238,000 jobs the past three months, up from 167,000 in the previous three.
