Abortion, like climate change, is a "religion" to the Left where they're willing to be everything they accuse the Right of being (fascists/ tyrants) to uphold the right to kill unborn babies. This desire to allow abortion at any stage, up-to and including moment after birth, is a sick obsession. These claims she makes that putting restrictions on abortion will result with women who "don't have human rights, you don't have civil rights, you don't have bodily autonomy and you don't have agency over the most important decision you will make" are absurd and a pathetic attempt of fearmongering.

Judges are supposed to be unbiased yet Gillibrand is making it clear she wants biased judges in seats of power. And take note she is also making it clear the Left wants to use the courts to force their agenda through when they can't get their way legislatively! That is why far too much power is being handed over to the courts with judges having lifetime appointments. If anyone in govt should have term limits it should be judges, since both sides of the aisle have weaponized the courts. Term limits would end judicial activism forcing the courts to decide the constitutionality of whatever case is before them vs doing what their side wants them to do.
US Ca District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam, appointed by obama in 2014, has issued an order temporarily blocking the Trump admin from using federal DOD funds to build the border wall.
Federal Judges cannot step in on issues of national security which is what the building the border wall is about. If we listen to our "friends" on the Left who say otherwise then that would mean federal judges acting on behalf of Leftists filing suits in opposition could step-in anytime they wanted to stop (any) POTUS and Congress from using military force. In other words if some tree-hugger doesn't want us to bomb one of our enemies they could take it to court to stop the govt. That is in effect what is happening here with judges issuing rulings to stop the Trump admin because activists who are not happy about the border wall being built. This order will be over-turned like many other rulings against the admin because like it or not the President possesses plenary powers on issues of national security, be it on who can or cannot enter the US via 8 US Code § 1182(f), or 10 US Code § 284(b(7) that allows fencing to be erected to combat drug trafficking, which is one of the many reasons Trump has to build the wall.
On top of this judge stretching his authority to rule on issues of national security he has a clear conflict of interest, again by being appointed by obama, but Gilliam "donated $6,900 to Barack Obama’s debut campaign for president and $14,500 to his reelection campaign, according to federal election records. The same records also indicate he contributed $4,500 to the Democratic National Committee in 2012 and, between 2012 and 2015, sent $3,100 to the Covington Burling LLP PAC, which supports candidates from both parties. His contributions totaled $29,000." ~ Washington Examiner.
Democrats deliberately shop judges before they bring challenges to the admin to stack the odds in their favor. These judges have demonstrated they put politics ahead of the law should be required to, wait for it, recuse themselves. Democrats love demanding republican judges, attorneys, govt officials to recuse themselves from controversial matters, the same tactic should be employed by attorneys who have to defends the Trump admins policies - NO obama appointed judges.
Every single time a federal judge gets in the way of this administration from doing its job they turn out to be activists who were obama or Clinton admin appointees. This site explicitly warned voters in 2012 to vote for Romney over obama on the very issue of obama stacking the courts with judicial activists/ loyalists. After rewriting obamacare making it into a tax and legal, Chief Justice John Roberts does it again siding with the liberal members of the Supreme Court to overrule Pres Trump's ban on illegal aliens abusing the immigration system claiming asylum.
In a 5-4 ruling SCOTUS has overstepped their mandate violating the Separation of Powers. For the sake of conversation and debate on FACTS, we will leave Trump out of this for a moment. The President of the United States on some issues has plenary powers ("Complete power over a particular area with no limitations.") especially when it revolves around national security, more specifically immigration as to who can and cannot enter the US. Per 8 US Code § 1182 – Inadmissible aliens, the President has the power to grant or deny access to anyone seeking entry into the US for any reason.
"…(f) Suspension of Entry or Imposition of Restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.…”

Back to Trump - This is the same law that granted Pres Trump the power to enact the Travel Ban that WAS upheld by SCOTUS, after numerous lower court challenges! Read it again, the law reads "any aliens or of any class of aliens" which means asylum seekers can arguably be classified under [It's safe to assume the admin's attorneys are working on this as we speak].
Leaving your country of origin to enter another because of general violence and economic disparity IS NOT grounds for asylum. It sucks for those people, but they cannot be permitted to abuse our immigration system that has already been perverted by corrupt politicians. Christians escaping the middle east because they are being wiped out by islamic jihadists because they believe in Christ not Allah is a legitimate claim. In general those facing acts of genocide are prime candidates for asylum as are those living under tyrannical regimes who are being threatened assaulted etc over their political beliefs which is direct threat to their govt. Not being able to make enough money to feed your family because nation you come from economy is in the toilet, or has bowed down to organized crime is not enough. These alleged asylum seekers are not being directly threatened, sorry to say they have no claim. Now if they have the dirt on cartels, gangs and their ties to the govt that's another story, but it's not the case.
Roberts KNOWS all of this and he is playing games. The Chief Justice is not acting as a jurist but a political activist defying the President, just as he did with obamacare and other controversial decisions. It is swing vote decisions like this that give many cause to call for Term Limits for the Judiciary Branch. These judges who are not elected become unhinged, making decisions that effect millions.
Prepare yourselves America, Roberts will continue to take positions against Trump, he will.. is the swing vote like fmr Justice Kennedy.
Rogue judges need to be removed from the bench. This is another example as to why we need Term Limits not only for Congress but also those in the Judicial Branch. The law is not optional, you cannot pick and choose what you want to follow. Judge Orrick, a staunch obama supporter and donor, is not only violating Trump's executive order but also long existing federal immigration law by aiding illegal aliens.
Kate's Law and Sanctuary Cities Bill both passed in the House in June and still have not come up for a vote in the Senate. WHY? Congress has proven, even under this new admin, they are inept, incompetent and impotent when it comes to dealing with illegal immigration. We should not put our faith in the legislature to take action. That said we need to have an Article V Convention of the States to get amendments like Term Limits and something done about immigration
It's almost every week now we're hearing warnings from people like Rush of the threats facing the nation by the deep state, dishonest politicians and media and these federal judges who have gone completely rogue. These federal judges ruling against LEGAL Executive Orders are invoking power not delegated to them by anyone, including under the Constitution. Frankly the only court established by the Constitution is the Supreme Court, Congress created the lower court system which clearly needs to be gutted. They can start with impeaching rogue judges who rule on social justice and feelings followed with term limits for a start, since they've demonstrated they have no concern for upholding the law they swore an oath to!
Interesting, Limbaugh used a similar scenario I've argued. If POTUS and Congress declare war, plenary powers they possess, on a nation that attacked the US but some liberal disagrees they can run to a court to overturn the declaration of war! That is the precedent being set right now with regards to the travel. As it's been pointed out on this site multiple times since Dec 2015, POTUS is granted the powers to restrict anyone from entering the US. These rogue judges and courts are now saying "no you can't, we don't care about the law" (they don't even refer to in their decisions) and even more outrageous they are granting Constitutional rights to people who are not citizens let alone ever stepping foot on US soil!

This judicial activism we are witnessing by this lawless Supreme Court wouldn't have happened if people would have listened to Sen Cruz in 2013. Instead he was attacked and berated viciously for calling to defund obamacare. Well look at what has happened since then:
The rollout was a complete and total disaster and remains so costing billions.
There have been multiple security breaches putting Americans private information in danger... admin couldn't careless.
Costs have skyrocketed be it premiums, deductibles and care.
Companies have cut back on hiring or even let workers go because of obamacare. This law is in fact hurting the US economy not helping it.
All the promises made (keep your doctor, plan etc) to get this obaminable law passed have been certified proven lies.
Prof Gruber has been outed as the primary architect counting on Americans stupidity to get the law passed.
And now for the second time the Supreme Court has violated the Separations of Power taking it upon themselves to rewrite the law in order to uphold it.
Ted Cruz was right and will continue to be right about this un-Constitutional law and all the other abuses we are witnessing. Even now as he runs for President the attacks continue to come from progressives (R's & D's) because they know he is right on many issues. This country will of course make another bad decision electing the popular kid over the smart kid in 2016 to be ruled under tyranny.
What will it take to wake people up to the soft tyranny being committed right now? What will it take to get people out of their self-induced comas of complacency to realize their silence has only empowered the elites who are destroying this country?
